A state of wonder

Do you remember being a kid and hugging a tree? Looking up through the leaves at the sun and marveling at the beauty in nature? Do you remember making snow angels and feeling the cold snowflakes falling down on your cheeks and eyelashes? Do you remember squatting down to earnestly examine a flower or a rock? Do you remember the magic of jumping in mud puddles? Or going to smell a flower freshly washed by the rain and the water tickling your nose? I hope you do. But it’s easy to forget all of those things with the way we live our lives in the current state of the world.

My hope is that my poetry, or something I write, somehow touches you in a way that reminds you to go back to the place in your brain and soul—that same place where childlike wonder, that remembering of magic and love in the world resides. That it might spark some kind of inner knowing about who we are, what love is, and what our purpose here is on Earth.

I also believe in shining the light on parts of ourselves that we might feel need to be hidden because underneath it all we are love!

I believe we are both fully human and fully divine. For me, my poetry allows me to understand and voice this concept in a way that makes sense to me.

Somehow, I have been fortunate enough to become an “accidental poet” of sorts. It’s funny because I can go back and read a poem I wrote and remember something important about what life is about. Don’t ask me exactly how it happened, but trust me, we all have this creativity inside!

I believe it happens when we make room to be still through meditation or yoga or walking in nature or paying attention to the details of how we live our lives, reading books or playing with our children or observing the curiosity and love of any child in the world.

We remember the magic and love present in life when are conscious about how we respect the Earth and all living and vibrating beings here, when we love and respect each other knowing we are a collective whole. And as so many are teaching and discovering right now, I truly believe that finding places to be still every day, no matter how much time you have, and to focus on the present moment opens up possibilities for seeing the world in a whole new way.

I am grateful for the gift I’ve been given with my poetry. I don’t think I will ever know exactly where it comes from, but I am excited to share it with you.

Miracles happen.

Love is the antidote to fear.

We can make changes that have a lasting impact on ourselves, our children, our families, humanity and the Earth.

Don’t give up hope! I haven’t.

Thanks for visiting and reading. I send you love and light. ♥️
